Post Doctoral Position at Bilkent Univ., Turkey

Multiple openings for postdoctoral research associates are available forindividuals, who are familiar with one or more of the following areas:

1. High-FrequencyTechniques:

PO, PTD, GTD,UTD, equivalent edge currents (EEC), creeping waves, shooting and bouncing rays(SBR), and ray tracing. Scattering from conductors,dielectrics, and impedance surfaces. Scattering fromcurved surfaces.

Theapplicant must have research experience in computational electromagnetics andnumerical techniques in general. Programming in Fortran and/or C and familiarity with UNIX will be helpful.

Fast Integral-Equation Solvers:

MOM, FMM, multi-level FMM, FFT, CG-FFT.

EFIE,MFIE, CFIE.

Interative solvers, Krylovsubspace methods (CG, BiCG, CGS, GMRES, QMR, etc.), preconditioners, initial-guessselection.

Integral-equation formulations for conducting and dielectricscatters, lossy materials, and surfaces withimpedance boundary conditions. Surface and volumeintegral equations.

Theapplicant must have research experience in computational electromagnetics andnumerical techniques in general. Programming in Fortranand/or C and familiarity with UNIX will be helpful.

3. Signal-Processing Techniques for ComputationalElectromagnetics :

Extrapolation, interpolation, and decimation (anterpolation),convolution, deconvolution, FFT. Modeling of 1-D and 2-D signals using GPOF, Prony'smethod, AWE, complex frequency hopping (CFH), rational functions, MBPE, etc.

Optimizationtechniques, such as genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, etc.

Signal-processingexperts are welcome. Familiarity with electromagnetics will be very helpful,but is not strictly required.

Parallel Programming:

Thegoal is to parallelize the electromagnetics solvers of different kinds (suchas, the multi-level fast multipole algorithm), some of which poseparallelization challenges and, thus, research opportunities. This project alsoinvolves hardware issues, such as the construction of a parallel PC cluster.

Familiaritywith Linux, Unix, MPI, and Fortran is required.

Computerscientists and computer engineers are welcome. Familiarity withelectromagnetics will be very helpful, but is not strictly required.
