Portugal: Postdoc Position in Organic Chemistry at New University of Lisbon
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral fellow to work in the development of methodologies for teaching organic chemistry to blind people. The position is within the research group of Prof. Ana M. Lobo in the Department of Chemistry at FCT - New University of Lisbon, Portugal (http://www.cqfb.fct.unl.pt/qoa/AL.html).
The successful candidate will be part of an European project, and will be responsible for the identification of unsolved problems, and the development of strategies to teach key concepts in Organic Chemistry to blind people. Interaction with software developers will be part of the job. A high degree of independence is required.Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, should have excellent written and oral English skills, experience in teaching, basic computer skills including the development of simple web sites, and should be able to work autonomously.
The position is for one year, and the candidate should be ready to start immediately.
The FCT-UNL campus is located in the Tagus river basin, 10 km from Lisbon city center, and 3 km from the Atlantic Ocean and Caparica beaches. The campus occupies an area of approximately 30 hectares and hosts 6,000 students, professors and researchers in science and engineering.Interested individuals should apply with a letter detailing why they are interested in the project, and a CV including description of past professional experiences, as well as a list of references.
