At the Department of Biological and Medical Psychology there is a vacant position as postdoctoral fellow in Cognitive Neuroscience and Functional Neuroimaging.

The Faculty of Psychology has ambitions to provide research and teaching of the highest quality. The Faculty is determined to take a leading position both nationally and internationally in selected research areas, and to offer a research education of high quality, preferably organised in research schools. Another objective is to be nationally and internationally competitive with regard to the quality of our education programmes. The research groups span themes from management, pedagogy, health-promoting work and international health to clinical psychology and cognitive neuroscience. The Faculty is responsible for two research schools (one in Integrated Neuroscience and one in Human Interaction and Growth), and others are being established. More than 100 candidates participate in the research education programme at the Faculty. International cooperation in research and teaching is extensive and given a high priority.

The Faculty offers professional psychology studies, teacher education, four bachelor degree programmes and eight master degree programmes. Two of the master degree programmes are taught in English. The Faculty is looking for colleagues who want to contribute to the development of the Faculty, who are ambitious and will contribute to realise the ambitions that we have set ourselves. To the right candidates, the Faculty will be able to offer an exciting and challenging work environment.

A postdoctoral position is a temporary appointment. The term of employment for this position is 3 years. It is not possible for any person to work under more than one temporary appointment for the same institution.

The postdoctoral position will be part of the research group in Cognitive Neuroscience and Functional Neuroimaging headed by Professor Kenneth Hugdahl. Place of work will be at the Department of Biological and Medical Psychology. The position involves engaging in research projects in cognitive neuroscience and functional and structural neuroimaging. The cognitive neuroscience unit at the Department does research in hemisphere asymmetry and speech sound processing, dyslexia and other language- related problems, and auditory hallucinations in schizophrenia. Interest in and experience with fMRI and related measures is an advantage.

The applicants must hold a relevant Norwegian Doctorate or equivalent education from abroad. The objective of postdoctoral positions is to qualify the selected candidates for work in senior positions in their disciplines.

Applicants shall put forward a proposal for a project for qualifying work. The proposal shall include a progress plan. It is a premise that the selected candidate will complete the project within the stipulated period of employment. The project proposal and progress plan shall form part of (sic: attachment to) the employment contract for temporary appointments.

Salary is at level 54 (NOK 378 400) on the government salary scale (which currently equates to EURO 47,439 per year).
