Requirements:
You will have a PhD in Molecular Microbiology or related discipline, preferably with some experience working in bacterial biopolymer biosynthesis and protein production.
Job Description
Purpose Statement: To carry out individual and team-based research into microbial polymer biosynthesis aiming at the production of tailor-made biomaterials.
Responsible To: Head, Institute of Molecular BioSciences through Professor Bernd Rehm.
Key Accountability Areas:
The fellow is required to:
- undertake research in microbial biopolymer synthesis as advertised
- undertake any other duties as specified by the project leader
- be familiar with Institute guidelines and rules for safety and approved practices in experimental work
- maintain a tidy and safe laboratory working environment
- maintain accurate and tidy records of experiments in a laboratory notebook and store all key data on Institute shared drive
- participate fully in the academic activities of the Institute in which they are working
- provide two monthly written reports to the project leader that summarise research progress and planned future experiments
- devote themselves full-time to University duties
- diligently and faithfully serve the University and use their best endeavours to promote and protect the interests of the University
- maintain confidentiality both during after the appointment as Fellow
