Kurti Fellowships, England
Brasenose College invites applications for one Senior and one Junior Nicholas Kurti Fellowship in Science. The Fellowships are open to suitably qualified post-doctoral researchers who are carrying out research in any branch of science in Oxford, either in the University or in a research institute associated with the University. The Fellowships are non-stipendiary, but include membership of the Senior Common Room with free lunches and dinners, and research and entertainment allowances. Fellows are required to have a salaried post with a tenure of at least 12 months from the date of taking up the Fellowship. The Senior Fellowship will run from 1 October 2005 for 5 years in the first instance but may be renewed at intervals thereafter provided the Fellow continues to hold a salaried post. The Junior Fellowship will start on 1 October 2005 and, provided the Fellow continues to hold a salaried post, will last for 3 years. Fellows will be encouraged, but not required, to undertake paid teaching of up to 6 hours a week and to participate in the life of the College. Neither Fellowship may be held in conjunction with a Fellowship at another Oxford College.
Applications, including the names and addresses of 3 referees, should be addressed to the Principal (from whom further particulars are available), and should be accompanied by a full c.v., together with an outline, not exceeding 1000 words, explaining in non-technical language the significance of the applicant's research.
