1. OUTLINE OF THE FELLOWSHIP
Its purpose is to provide opportunities to young postdoctoral researchers from foreign countries to conduct, under the guidance of their hosts, cooperative research with leading research groups in universities and other Japanese institutions. The program is aimed at providing opportunities for such researchers to help them to advance their own research while contributing to the advancement of research in Japan and the counterpart countries.Applications for this program are submitted by a university researcher or other eligible researcher in Japan who wishes to host a foreign postdoctoral fellow.

2. FIELDS OF RESEARCH:
All fields of the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences are included under this program.

3. APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY:
The applicant must be a researcher (excluding research assistants) employed full-time at one of the following institutions:
(1)Japanese national, public or private universities, inter-university research institutes, or other research institution under MEXT jurisdiction.
(2)National laboratories or other organization actively engaged in research, including independent administrative institutions, public research corporations, nonprofit organizations, and prefectural research institutes.
