Information about the Program
The objective of the program is to attract young talented researchers at IMT.An IMT Research Fellow is a resident researcher pursuing advanced studies beyond the doctoral level in preparation for an independent career. Research Fellows are appointed for a fixed term, from one year up to three years. All contracts may be renewed once, for up to six years. The successful candidate will participate to IMT research projects and will have a limited teaching load, in the context of the graduate programs of the school.The successful candidates will work in close contact with other young resident researchers, PhD students and senior professors/researchers.IMT offers a multicultural, collegial and international research environment. Duties
The Research Fellow will be asked to conduct applied research on:
Medical robotics and computer-assisted surgery systems, with special reference to augmented reality and human-machine interfaces for teleoperationand to contribute to IMT teaching activity at Ph.D level (lectures, seminars, tutorship).
Required Qualifications
Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering, Robotics or related field
Experience in the field of medical robotics and computer-assisted surgery, acquired in the context of National and European research projects, also carried out outside the country, industrial projects
Excellent knowledge of augmented reality and human-machine interfaces, bio-mechatronics fundamentals
Strong capabilities in medical image processing, data visualization and simulation, system integration
Ability to use software packages and programming tools for multimodal data acquisition, processing, and rendering (visual, haptic), software packages for numerical and symbolic computation
Experience in collecting and analyzing primary survey data
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
Strong communications skills in written and spoken English
Goal-oriented and creative team player, ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team
Preferred Qualifications
Background in physics
Experience in teaching and support to educational activities
Experience in writing research proposals and scientific coordination of research activities
Experience as visiting student/researcher in other international research groups
