Italy: Research Fellow in Humanoid and Personal Robotics
Information about the Program
The objective of the program is to attract young talented researchers at IMT.An IMT Research Fellow is a resident researcher pursuing advanced studies beyond the doctoral level in preparation for an independent career. Research Fellows are appointed for a fixed term, from one year up to three years. All contracts may be renewed once, for up to six years. The successful candidate will participate to IMT research projects and will have a limited teaching load, in the context of the graduate programs of the school.The successful candidates will work in close contact with other young resident researchers, PhD students and senior professors/researchers.IMT offers a multicultural, collegial and international research environment. Duties
The Research Fellow will be asked to conduct applied research on:
Humanoid and Personal Robotics, with special reference to sensory-motor coordination schemes for grasping and manipulation and to human-robot interaction and interfacesand to contribute to IMT teaching activity at Ph.D level (lectures, seminars, tutorship).
Required Qualifications
Ph.D in Robotics or related fields
Experience in Biorobotics research and related fields, Humanoid and Personal Robotics, Robot Perception, Human-Robot Interaction and Interfaces, organization of scientific events, research projects at national and international level, also carried out outside the country, industrial projects, industrial exploitation of research results
Excellent knowledge of Biorobotics fundamentals
Strong capabilities in coordination of research activities and multidisciplinary teams, conceiving innovative projects, presentation and dissemination of project results
Ability to use IT tools, robotic systems, programming toolsExperience in collecting and analyzing primary survey data
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
Strong communications skills in written and spoken English
Goal-oriented and creative team player, ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team
Preferred Qualifications
Background in computer science
Experience as visiting student/researcher abroad
Experience in support to educational activities
