Postdoctoral Position in Biomechanics, the Institute for Applied Mathematics and Information Technologies (IMATI), Italy

Applications are invited for 3 European Research Council-funded postdoctoral research positions starting December 1, 2008, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The successful candidates will work with Dr. Ulisse Stefanelli at the Institute for Applied Mathematics and Information Technologies (IMATI) of the CNR. The research will form part of the 5-years ERC-funded program

BioSMA: Mathematics for Shape Memory Technologies in Biomechanics.

This project is aimed at the mathematical description of the behavior of special materials, especially shape memory alloys. The focus will be broadly interdisciplinary and include modeling, analytic, numerical, and computational issues.
