Postdoc Position in Multiscale Fluid Dynamics at Politecnico di Milano, Italy

A postdoc position is now open at the Dipartimento di Matematica, Politecnico di Milano.

The grant is devoted to “Multiscale fluid dynamics and fluid–structure interaction” and is supported by the Mathcard project on “Mathematical Modelling and Simulation of the Cardiovascular System (www.mathcard.eu) headed by professor Alfio Quarteroni.

Suitable candidates should hold a PhD in applied mathematics, physics, or engineering, with a strong beckground in computational mechanics (finite elasticity and/or fluid mechanics) and numerical methods, in particular finite elements. They should also have strong skills and passion for scientific
programming. He/she is supposed to take a leading role in the development of the scientific software LifeV (www.lifev.org)
