Italy: Post Doctoral Researcher in Wireless Mesh Networks
Position Description
A full-time postdoc researcher position in the area of Wireless Mesh Networking is available at CREATE-NET (www.create-net.org). The successful candidate will be working on the MIUR-funded Italy-Israel WING project (www.wing-project.org), focusing on wireless mesh networks as an access architecture for the next-generation Internet. The project aims at advancing the state-of-art in research on wireless mesh networks (WMN), while at the same time developing software prototypes and demonstrators.
Responsibilities
We seek candidates with strong hands-on research experience in wireless communications and networking.
Areas of specific of interest include:
- multi-channel mesh networks architectures and protocols
- distributed monitoring for WMNs
- distributed channel assignment/switching schemes for WMNs
- network coding for WMNs
- prototyping and experimental measurements.
Qualifications
- Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or related fields. Research experience in mesh networking is highly desirable. Implementation and prototyping experiences in wireless networks are also viewed positively;
- Strong programming skills;
- The candidate must have an excellent academic and publication record; the ability to work in team is also essential.
