At the Graduate School of Social Sciences (GSSS), University Bremen, Germany(see: www.gsss.uni-bremen.de). The position is tenable for three years from　September or October 2005 onwards (contract is renewable for another 3 years).Salary according to the German public service pay scale (BAT IIa).

Candidatesshould have completed a doctorate by the time of their appointment. Some teachingexperience is an asset.The candidate is expected to teach in the BA and MA programmes in sociology at theUniversity of Bremen, participate in the academic activities of the department andcarry out his/her own research. Research interests in the fields of social inequality,social structure, transnationalization, comparative welfare state research, politicalsociology, migration or Europeanization are especially welcome.
