Germany: Postdoctoral Fellowship at Munich Graduate School of Economics
In addition, up to two research fellowshipsare awarded to postdoctoral candidates each year. MGSE does not charge tuitionfees for attending the Ph.D. program or the postdoctoral program. However,living expenses are high in Munich. In particular, expenses for housing are above the German average.Furthermore, health insurance is mandatory in Germanyand has to be arranged by students on their own. To cover living expensesin Munich applicants should budget at least 800 Euros per month. Scholarshipapplications are possible only in combination with the general applicationprocedure to the doctoral or the postdoctoral program. Please note, that MGSE expects full timededication from all members in the program; therefore no allowance is given forany paid work aside of the program.
Postdoctoral Fellowships
MGSE offers up to two postdoctoral researchfellowships per year financed by the German Research Foundation. Postdoctoralfellows conduct independent research in an area that is relevant to theresearch program of the MGSE. Involvement with a particular project area is nota prerequisite. There are no teaching duties associated with the fellowship. Thefellowships amount to 1.365 Euro per month for post-docs who are not older than30 years and increase in accordance with the students' age. In addition,post-docs receive 103 Euro per month to cover travel costs, expenses for booksetc. Postdoctoral fellowships are initially granted for one year with thepossibility of renewal for a second year.
