Postdoc Position in Protein-Kristalllographie, Berlin, Germany

We are working on X-ray crystal structures of membrane intrinsic receptors in collaboration with several groups in Berlin and on other proteins like photosystem II and protein-nucleic acid complexes. The proteins are expressed heterologously, isolated, purified by chromatographic methods and characterized my MALDI-TOF. X-ray diffraction data of the crystals are collected at the Berlin synchrotron BESSY or other synchrotrons, processed and the phase problem is solved by heavy atom methods employing anomalous dispersion or molecular replacement, electron densities are calculated and interpreted with molecular models, and the structures are published.

Required:
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoc with good background in biochemistry, biophysics or related sciences.

Salary is BATIIa / duration 2 years, from 1. 1. 2009 until 31. 12. 2010
