Germany: PostDoc Position at Institute of Physics, University of Stuttgart


Applications are invited for a Postdoc Position (BAT IIa) in a research group that is fully funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, and is hosted at the 3. Institute of Physics, University of Stuttgart. The group’s activities encompass studies in molecular Biophysics by means of advanced optical coherent Raman microspectroscopy and single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy.

The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree in Physics or Physical Chemistry as well as an outstanding research record in at least two of the following fields: ultrafast laser spectroscopy, fluorescence or Raman microscopy/imaging, and quantum optics. A solid knowledge in ultrashort laser physics is an asset. A vital interest in interdisciplinary research in Biophysics is welcomed.

Payment over a period of two years will be according to BAT IIa, German civil service salary scale. The University of Stuttgart seeks to increase the number of female scientists and encourages them to apply. Handicapped persons with comparable qualifications receive preferential status.
