Germany: Post-doctoral Research Position in Economics, Bielefeld University

The Department of Economics at Bielefeld University is looking forapplicants for one post-doctoral position and one junior researchposition. The researchers will be part of the EU funded research projectEURACE (‘An agent-based software platform for European economic policydesign with heterogeneous interacting agents: new insights from a bottomup approach to economic modeling and simulation’). The positions are forthree years starting September 1st, 2006. The candidate for the juniorresearcher position will have the opportunity to prepare for a doctoralthesis.
Candidates should hold a degree in economics or related fields withexcellent degrees. A strong background in quantitative economics isdesired preferably with focus in industrial or labor economics.Programming skills or experience with agent-based computational modelsare not required but considered as an additional asset. Applicantsshould have genuine interest in carrying out active research in the areaof computational economics. For the candidate for the post-doctoralposition proven ability for high-level research is desirable. Command ofthe German language is not necessary.
