CALL FOR OPEN RESEARCH POSITIONS
The GOODWATER Initial Training Network addresses the increasing global importance of biological groundwater remediation and management of sites contaminated by organic chemicals.
In this ITN 15 internationally recruited Early Stage Researchers (PHD student positions) and 1 experienced researcher (post-doctoral position) will be trained in cutting-edge scientific skills at seven leading research institutes in the field of groundwater remediation and natural attenuation.
Each researcher will benefit from a wide ranging training program that will take advantage of both local and network wide activities, as well as of schools, conferences, and workshops.
We are currently looking for applicants with a degree in the fields of hydrogeology, environmental microbiology, environmental chemistry, and biochemical engineering, who are still in the first five years of their careers in research.
To be eligible you must not have resided or carried out your main activity in the host country for more than 12 month in the past 3 years.
The network aims at a participation of at least 40% women in the vacant positions.
The initial closing date for formal applications is 20th November 2008.
We expect successful candidates to jin the network in April 2009.
