France: Postdoctoral Postion in Electrochemistry at Laboratoire de Physicochimie des Surfaces (ENSCP), Paris

Please kindly mention ScholarshipNet when applying for this position

The Laboratoire de Physicochimie des Surfaces, (director Philippe Marcus) is currently inviting candidates for a Postdoctoral Position (Surface Engineering Group)

The position will involve the development and application of an electrochemical flow cell coupled to an ICP atomic emission spectrometer (Atomic Emission Spectroelectrochemistry) developed in our laboratory. This combination permits the direct measurement of partial elemental dissolution rates during electrochemical experiments. Coupling with a quartz crystal microbalance may also be attempted to give a complete kinetic analysis of dissolution mechanisms. The work will focus on the study of the dealloying mechanism of zinc, aluminium, magnesium alloys and the chemistry of associated oxide films and conversion coatings.

We are seeking an ambitious candidate with a proven track record in experimental electrochemistry especially with coupled methods such as spectroelectrochemistry, quartz crystal microbalance, etc. A strong background in metallurgy, oxide films, and/or conversion coatings would be useful.

This will be initially a one year position with the possibility of an extension pending funding.

Applicants should be sent to:

Prof. Kevin Ogle
Laboratoire de Physicochimie des Surfaces
Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Paris
11 rue Pierre et Marie Curie
75005 Paris, France
