The Research Group in Numerical Analysis of the Department ofMathematical Engineering of the University of Concepcion, Chile, ispleased to announce the availability of a postdoctoral position inNUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS, supported by theCentre for Mathematical Modelling (CMM) of the University of Chile. Theposition is for one year, starting January 2007. Candidates shouldexhibit evidence of outstanding research potential and are required tohave received a Ph.D. degree not before 2002. They are expected todedicate fully to research in an active research-oriented environment.No teaching duties. Spanish language is not required. Monthly salary isabout US$ 1.800 (as a reference, the rent for an appartment near theUniversity is about US$ 400 per month). Flight expenses (roundtrip) willalso be covered by CMM.
