Description
Up to three fellows will be selected to conduct independent research inPrinceton, New Jersey, in one of the following areas: psychology,education, teaching, learning, literacy, statistics, computer science,educational technology, minority issues, and testing issues, includingnew forms of assessment and alternate forms of assessment for specialpopulations.
Goals of the Program
The goals are to provide research opportunities to individuals who holda doctorate in the fields indicated above and to increase the number ofwomen and underrepresented minority professionals conducting researchin educational measurement and related fields.
Award Duration
The fellowship is for a period of up to two years, renewable after the first year by mutual agreement.
Award
Fellows receive a $50,000 stipend, and reimbursement of limited relocation expenses consistent with ETS policy.

Eligibility
The program is for individuals who hold a doctorate in a relevant discipline and can provide evidence of prior research.
How to Apply
There is no application form. Prior to applying, candidates should send a one-page abstract of their research via e-mail to ldelauro@ets.org to determine if the topic of research is appropriate for study at ETS. Applicants may view the Research Division Web site for information on research studies underway.
Applicants should submit the following documents:
- A current curriculum vita
- A detailed proposal describing the research that will be carried out at ETS (approximately five typed, double-spaced pages)
- Official graduate-level transcripts
- Standardized Letter of Recommendation from three individuals who are familiar with the applicant's work
Selection
The main criteria for selection will be scholarship and importance ofthe proposed research. Another key factor will be the explicitobjective of the research and how it relates to ETS goals andpriorities. ETS affirmative action objectives will be considered.
Deadline
Applications must be received at ETS by February 1, 2005.
Decision
Applicants will be notified by April 1, 2005.
