The award is given to
- female scientists for their achievements in the followingdisciplines: natural and engineering science, economics and medicine or
- internationaloutstanding scientists of all disciplines who have researched in thearea of civilization and gender. Members of all disciplines are invitedto join.
The award is endowed with 7.500 €
The Essen Collegium of Gender Studies aims toresearch the relations of gender, especially in the disciplines oftechnology, science and medicine. In addition prospects of research onfemale and males are examined and transformed into questions of gender.
An independent, interdisciplinary jury of experts judges and nominates the award winner.
The award is sponsored by the Deutsche Telekom AG. It will be awarded at an international ceremonial act in November 2005.
Closing date will be September 15, 2005.
