Chrysalis Scholarship Fund

The Chrysalis Scholarship providesdegree-completion funding for three women geoscience graduate studentswhose education has been interrupted for at least one year. The awardsare intended to cover thesis/dissertation costs such as typing ordrafting expenses, child-care, or anything necessary to assist a degreecandidate during those critical, final days.

Award Amount: Two $2000 will be given each year

Application Deadline: March 1st

The applicant must be a student who hascontributed and will continue to contribute to both the geosciences andthe larger world community through her academic and personal strengths.

Required Application Materials

1. A letter of application, in which theapplicant describes her background, career goals and objectives, howthe scholarship will be used, and the nature and length of theinterruption to her education.
2. Letters of referencefrom the applicant's thesis advisor and another scientist of herchoice. Both letters should specifically address the criteria in #1above.

All application materials should be clearly labeled with the applicant's name, address, and phone number and should be sent to chrysalis@awg.org. Please note: emailed application materials should have "Chrysalis Scholarship" in the subject line.
